Abstract: Cosmological observations tell us that about 26.8% of the energy present in the universe should be dark matter (DM), which behaviors just like a beyond standard model particle and interacts weakly with the ordinary matter. In this talk, I will discuss issues relevant for the direct detections of cold DM in underground laboratories, with special emphasis on the neutrino floor, which is the background induced by coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering. Impacts of new physics to the neutrino floor as well as the DM-nucleus scattering will be discussed.
