Abstract:
In a first part, I will briefly review the status of single quarkonium production in proton-proton collisions. I will then discuss recent theoretical and experimental results on associated and pair production. In a second part, I will highlight some important aspects of quarkonium production in proton-nucleus collisions. In a third part, I will address prospects for quarkonium-production studies at the LHC in the fixed-target mode.
