Abstract:
Holography inspired stringy hadrons (HISH) is a set of models that
describe hadrons: mesons, baryons and glueballs as strings in
four dimensional space-time. The models are based on a "map"
from stringy hadrons of holographic confining backgrounds.
In this talk I will review the "derivation" of the models, I will
briefly mention their confrontation with the PDG and will discuss
several open issues.
I will start with a brief reminder of the passage from the $AdS_5x\times S^5$
string theory that corresponds to $N=4$ SYM theory to certain
flavored confining holographic models.
I will then describe the string configurations in holographic
backgrounds that correspond to a Wilson line,a meson,a baryon and a
glueball. I will determine the classical Regge-like trajectories
of the HISH. I will discuss in details the quantization of the hadronic strings.
I will present the string calculations that correspond to the decay of
a hadron into two hadrons and I will emphasize the different between
the decay of an open string (meson or baryon) and closed string
(glueball).
